The Food and Nutrition Department at The Orchards at Southington provides fine dining services to residents who live in the 90 apartment community.
Residents include seniors 55 and older who opt to be a part of a community that promotes their independent lifestyle.
Fine dining at the Orchards at Southington provides the feel of being at your favorite restaurant every night with your favorite wait staff.
We strive to go above and beyond to provide the best, fine dining experience, to our customers.
Job Duties:
Conduct pre-meal set up including but not limited to filling water pitchers, filling butter containers, placing linens and setting out dinnerware and utensils.
Explain menu selections to residents and/or guests so that they are fully aware of all the menu items that are available; understand and articulate knowledge of the ingredients used in preparing all dishes on the menu.
Understand and explain all alternative menu choices available.
Take all food orders clearly and precisely.
Assure quality table service by utilizing proper service techniques, and exhibiting a cheerful, courteous and positive attitude while adapting to the various needs of each resident.
Time delivery of food from the kitchen and expedite food delivery to residents.
Follow proper sequence of food delivery to insure food arrives to the table at the correct temperature.
Conduct post meal clean-up including but not limited to removing all dinnerware to kitchen, vacuuming dining room, and cleaning chairs.
Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene and adhere to the department uniform policy including the continuous wearing of a Mulberry Gardens authorized nametag.
Responsible for promoting an environment that results in resident satisfaction by exhibiting a positive attitude and timely response to resident needs and requests.
Follow department and The Orchards policies and procedures and federal, state and local laws and regulations, where applicable.
All other duties as required and consistent with the education and skills required for this position.
Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
Previous experience as a waitperson or in a food service environment desirable.
